About the new Slovenian OBU

22 March 2018 | Uncategorized | Transport Vermeulen

We talked briefly about the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in our January newsletter. The GDPR is a European regulation regarding gathering and protecting personal data and it also concerns us.

Do you want to stay updated about what's going on in the transportation sector, which legislation was modified and what we are doing at Transport Vermeulen? In that case, send us an e-mail via admin@transportvermeulen.be and be sure you get our monthly newsletter.

As from April 1st 2018, trucks must be equipped with a new OBU with regards to the new electronic levy in Slovenia. The levy will be applied to 618 km in Slovenia, divided in 125 paying sections. If every country keeps inventing its own levy systems, our drivers will soon not have any space left to drive safely. The Slovenian OBU goes next to the German OBU, the Belgian go-box, the Austrian mautkast and the Slovakian mautkast. A whole lot of screens potentially disturbing the drivers' focus on the road.
